Swimming pools will close from October 7

Stricter regulations and  restrictions in the capital area, which took effect at midnight on October 7, include e.g. includes closure of swimming pools and bathing areas. The Hafnarfjörður swimming pools will therefore continue to be closed. The restrictions are valid until October 19. The capital area refers to Reykjavík, Seltjarnarnesbær, Mosfellsbær, Kjósarhreppur, Hafnarfjarðarkaupstaður, Garðabær and Kópavogur.

Regular guests of the swimming pools and others are thanked in advance for their understanding. It is everyone's hope that the pools will reopen as soon as possible or as soon as conditions allow it.

Announcement on Tuesday, October 6

Swimming pools in the capital area will be closed tomorrow because of tighter COVID-19 regulations from October 7. School swimming lessons are also cancelled. 

Next steps regarding opening hours of swimming pools will be advertised when a new regulation from the Ministry of Health about tightened rules in the capital area will be published.
