Swimming over Christmas? - Opening hours extended over the Christmas holiday!

Swimming is a nice way to spend time with the family and the swimming pools in Hafnarfjörður meet the needs of all groups. There are three swimming pools and they all have their own characteristics and charm. Hafnarfjörður Swimming Hall, old history and calm atmosphere, Ásvallalaug, a family-friendly environment and a warm hall for the younger children, and Suðurbæjarlaug, a beautiful and nice outdoor area and an outdoor pool.

Maximum number of guests in the swimming pools

Swimming pools are allowed to receive up to 50% of the maximum number of guests. The validity of a new rules is until 12 January 2021, unless otherwise advertised. Children born 2005 and later are not included in the number of guests. Special attention is drawn to the fact that it is possible to see the number of pool guests in swimming pools at any given time on the website.

This means that the maximum number of guest in each pool is as follows:

  • Ásvallalaug - 160 guests
  • Suðurbæjarlaug - 80 guests
  • Sundhöll Hafnarfjarðar - 32 guests


How many people are in the swimming pools right now?

When it became clear that the epidemic would affect the services of the municipality's swimming pools, it was decided to launch an information page about the number of guests in each pool. The purpose is to minimize and preferably prevent people from having to wait for a space in the pool.
