Open for applications for micro-grants

"Bjartir dagar" is a cultural festival that reflects all the diverse cultural work that takes place in Hafnarfjörður. The festival will last throughout the summer in various ways, as permitted by disease control rules and restrictions on gatherings. Applications are now open for micro-grants to hold events and happenings throughout the town this summer. It is important that the project appeals to a wide range of people and with the aim that many will enjoy.

The application deadline is May 15th. Grant allocation before June 1th and July 1th

Written applications for funding to organize events and happenings this summer should be sent to the project manager of "Bjartir dagar" as an attachment to before May 15th and / or June 15th. It is best to combine the application into one pdf file with all the documents. Applications will be submitted to the Hafnarfjörður Culture and Tourism Committee, which will allocate funding in comparison with the Culture and Tourism Committee's rules on grants for cultural activities. The committee will allocate micro-grants before June 1th and July 1th for projects taking place in June, July and August.

The application must state:

  • Name of applicant, kennitala, name and telephone number
  • Partners 
  • Goal of the project, description and reason for application
  • Amount applied for
  • Project schedule
  • Other means of funding, if applicable
  • Estimated total cost of project
