Micro grants for culture and art during Advent

3. Dec 2020

Do you want to take part in enriching the Christmas spirit on Advent?

Hafnarfjarðarbær calls for applications for micro-grants for cultural affairs during Advent. In order to support Hafnarfjörður's artists and Hafnarfjörður culture, part of the funds of the Christmas village in Hafnarfjörður will be allocated to various projects that will take place on Advent 2020.

Jólaþorpið or the Christmas Village is a town event that sums up the Christmas culture in Hafnarfjörður and a visit to the Christmas village, museums, shops, cafés and restaurants is an important and essential part of many people's Christmas preparations. Every year on Advent, in the Christmas village and elsewhere in Hafnarfjörður, a large and diverse group of artists performs all kinds of things. Given that the conditions in the community do not offer such entertainment this year, it has been decided to request creative and fun individuals and groups who have ideas for pop-up events, shows and streams. Events that do not encourage group formation and are not advertised specifically, but constructively promote culture and enliven the human spirit during Advent. We are looking for something for children or something for adults. Individuals can apply for funding for projects up to a maximum of ISK 100,000.

Deadline for applications is December 6, 2020

Applications should be sent to the e-mail address: jolathorp@hafnarfjordur.is under the subject: Application for micro-grant before 23:59 on Sunday December 6. Grant applications will be processed quickly and it is assumed that the distribution will be completed on  December 7. Application information: The application by e-mail must include the applicant's name, ID number, address, telephone number, e-mail address as well as contact information, information on project for which a grant is applied for and a simple cost estimate.
