Let's enjoy the outdoors

21. Oct 2020

This weekend is a long weekend in Hafnarfjörður's primary schools due to Winter break both Thursday and Friday.  Museums and swimming pools in Hafnarfjörður, as in the entire capital area, are closed and therefore do not have a program as often before.

At The Directorate of Health and The Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management information meeting on Monday, people were asked to stay at home as much as possible, not to travel if it is unnecessary and avoid group formations at home and elsewhere due to the coronavirus.

You can enjoy the outdoors in your local environment

Just beyond the quiet buzz of Hafnarfjörður's charming streets lie dozens of spectacular nature areas. Within the environs of Hafnarfjörður, walkers, hikers, and nature enthusiasts can explore the coastline, volcanoes, lava fields, and more. In the vicinity of Hafnarfjörður there are various walking and cycling routes, suitable for the whole family. Outdoor recreation areas are varied so that everyone can find something to their liking, e.g. playgrounds and football fields.
