Grants from The Town Council Executive Committee

Each year, The Town Council Executive Committee provides grants to associations, companies or individuals for activities and services that fall within the municipality's role or are otherwise considered in accordance with the municipality's policy and priorities. Grants are awarded twice a year, and now it's time for the second distribution of this year. The application deadline is October 29, 2020.

Applicants must be connected to Hafnarfjörður in some way. For example, with permanent residence, by the event or project being supported taking place in Hafnarfjörður and / or involving the presentation of something that concerns the municipality. Institutions, companies, associations and individuals can only apply once a year and events or projects are not funded afterwards.

Applications must be submitted electronically through My pages, the application form is in Icelandic. In addition to the basic information, the application must state the following:

  • Objectives, description and reasons for the application
  • Grant amount
  • Time and work schedule
  • Other financing
  • Cost estimate
