Emphasis on service by phone, with online chat and e-mail

We encourage everybody to use online communication with the municipality these days and minimize all delivery of documents

In light of the emergency level of civil protection currently in force due to the COVID-19 virus, residents and other customers who have errands in Hafnarfjarðarbær Municipality Offices at Strandgata 6 or Norðurhella 2 are encouraged to focus on electronic service methods. With these actions, the municipality wants to limit traffic to continue to ensure important services and safety for all involved. 

The offices will remain open during normal opening hours for important and necessary errands. It should be noted that documents delivered are not processed until after at least 48 hours.

NOTE that as of Thursday 25 March 2021, the service center at Strandgata 6 will be closed at noon or from 12-13. Telephone and electronic services are still open at this time.
