The emergency center of the service center is open outside opening hours as before.

The decision on the change of opening hours

The decision on changing opening hours is made after reviewing statistics on visits, telephone calls, online chats and utilization of the service in parallel with developments and changes in opening hours at other municipalities and public institutions. This change is in line with other changes and, among other things, fewer working hours in a week and increases the possibilities for self-service. Hafnarfjarðarbær's service center was opened on 1 September 2003 and the staff of Hafnarfjarðarbær's service center and Hafnarfjörður have strived to give excellent service to the residents. The municipality's smart steps aim to utilize technology to improve the quality and efficiency of the service and establish even better communication with the residents through routes and at times that best suit the needs of the community at any given time.
