Additional grant for leisure in the autumn of 2021

 Is your child entitled to additional support for leisure time in the autumn of 2021?

Hafnarfjörður draws special attention to the fact that children born in the years 2006-2015 who are domiciled in low-income households may be entitled to ISK 25,000. additional funding for sports and leisure activities in the autumn of 2021. This is a grant from the Ministry of Social Affairs for COVID-19, which the municipalities allocate. The aim of the grant is to equalize the opportunities for children to participate in organized sports and leisure activities.

Applications must be submitted no later than December 31, 2021

If a parent / guardian believes that their child is entitled to an additional grant for sports and leisure activities in the autumn of 2021 and has not used the grant already through Sportabler, the grant can be applied for on My pages no later than 31 December 2021.

 

Valid receipt from the relevant sports or leisure club and leisure club and income.

A valid receipt from the relevant sports or leisure club must be submitted with application through My pages. The receipt must state the name and ID number of the child and the period of the course. You must also submit income statement / staðgreiðsluyfirlit from the Tax for 2021. You can find it here

The following are the conditions for the payment of an additional grant:

  • The total income of providers, individuals, couples or cohabitants was lower than 787,200 ISK on average per month in the period March - June 2021 (March, April, May and June)
  • Valid only for courses in the autumn semester of 2021, during the period August-December 2021.
  • Applications must be received no later than December 31, 2021
  • A child must be born in the years 2006-2015
